AS said residential sales fell 35 percent

Bouwend Nederland said in a statement the EIB's forecastswere based on a 0.75 percent decline in Dutch GDP in 2009, butthat the European Commission expects the Dutch economy, the eurozone's fifth largest, to contract by 2 percent in 2009. While the EIB forecast new home construction could fall to64,000 houses in 2010 from about 80,000 in 2008, BouwendNederland said a decline to 40,000 was not "unthinkable". Dutch building firm Heijmans (HEIJ.AS) already said inNovember its third quarter housing sales were hit by the creditcrisis and reduced consumer confidence, while rival BAM(BAMN.AS) said residential sales fell 35 percent. The Dutch government last week moved to support socialhousing development by extend a guarantee fund, while it alsomoved to prevent delays in the construction of health centres.It also said last year it might bring forward planned watermanagement infrastructure projects. Bouwend Nederland chairman Brinkman welcomed the measures,but also urged the government to accelerate its infrastructureplans, expand its efforts to support the private housing sectorand called for informal talks between the government and theindustry to be placed on a more urgent footing. The Detroit Pistons 2009 draft picks Austin Daye and Jonas Jerebko make their regular season NBA debut tonight when the Thunder come into the palace. Both Daye and Jerebko were suspended for game one due to altercations in the pre-season.Both will be playing behind Villinueva and Kwame Brown, so will probably not play a huge role throughout the season, but don't overlook their talents.Daye showed in pre-season that he can shoot well, play defense and will fight for rebounds. Averaging about 5 points per game, and had a personal pre-season high of 10 points. He showed he iscapable of making that three point shot, and is getting more comfortable on the court.Jerebko also showed that he will fight for the rebounds, and not afraid to drive it in the lane. He has the ability to pull out behind the arc as well, averaged about 6 points a game, and scored a personal high of 12 points in a pre-season game.Don't expect them to get too many minutes tonight against Durant and the Thunder, but they will make an appearance and show their talents, like they did in pre-season..
